There is so much to see and do in this area. There are several marinas with access to the Connecticut River; within a ten minute drive. If you don’t have your own boat to launch, you can always go for a ride on The Lady Bea, a river cruise boat located at Brunelle’s Marina. For the golfer, there are 11 golf courses, within an 8 mile radius, including the Orchards Golf Course which hosted the U.S. Women’s Open in 2004. Historic Deerfield is within a 30 minute drive and is a must for history buffs. Not to be missed is the Bridge of Flowers and Glacial Potholes located in nearby Shelburne Falls. The Yankee Candle Flagship store located in South Deerfield is a must see as well.

Children enjoy the Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory, the Eric Carle Museum, McCray’s Farm, Lupa Zoo, and the Holyoke Children’s Museum and well as the Springfield Museums. There is always Six Flags New England too!

Heading north, you could be browsing the unique offerings of the Vermont Country Store within an hour. Head east and you can spend the day strolling through Old Sturbridge Village. An hour to the west will bring you into the towns of the Berkshires and the Hancock Shaker Village.

There is always something happening at both the Big E and the Basketball Hall of Fame. The Brimfield Antique Show brings its “treasure hunt” to the area three times a year. Fall foliage is spectacular as seen from the Quabbin Reservoir, Sugarloaf Mountain or the Mohawk Trail.
